Principal

My name is Laetitia Jordaan

At Tate International School, we believe that education extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms—it is about inspiring young minds, nurturing their potential, and preparing them for a dynamic world. As Principal, I am committed to fostering an environment where every student is empowered to excel academically and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.

With a Bachelor of Education and teaching experience across various schools, my journey in education has been shaped by a passion for learning and a deep understanding of the qualities that make an exceptional teacher. My formative years in Switzerland, where I immersed myself in the German language, reinforced my appreciation for multilingual education and the value of cultural diversity in learning.

It is an honor to lead Tate International School, where we strive to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive educational environment. I look forward to working with our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our bright and talented students to shape a future filled with possibilities.

Founders & Directors

Our names are Lieze and Nikki Purén

Lieze and Nikki, the visionary founders of Tate International School, share a deep passion for education and a commitment to nurturing every child's unique potential.

Lieze began her teaching journey in London after earning her degree from the University of Potchefstroom in 1998. She gained her Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, expanding her global teaching expertise. After returning to Cape Town, she spent two years at the International School of Hout Bay, coordinating SATs and sports programs. In 2006, she joined Chester House School, where her leadership flourished, culminating in her role as Head of the Preparatory School in 2013. Her dedication to holistic education led her to pursue a B Ed Honours in Educational Management, which inspired her to co-found Clever Kids Learning Hub—now Tate International School.

Nikki’s journey in education began with a Montessori diploma, leading her to teach at The Kindergartens in London. After stepping away to raise her four children and earning a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, she returned to lead Crescent III Kindergarten. Upon moving to South Africa, she focused on her family before co-founding Clever Kids Learning Hub. With over 20 years of diverse experience, Nikki is especially passionate about special needs education, inspired by her eldest son's dyslexia. She believes that when children’s individual needs are met, they develop confidence, self-discipline, and a lifelong love for learning.

Now residing in the UK, Lieze and Nikki continue to be the driving force behind Tate International School, ensuring that it remains a place where every child is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
